Got a 2012 Pathfinder that’s been with the family for years and honestly it’s been a tank, but lately the transmission is starting to act really confused especially when it’s hot out. It’ll hesitate going into gear or sometimes thump into reverse which is not a great feeling. I’ve been reading up and apparently these models are known for radiator issues contaminating the transmission fluid which might be what happened here, not entirely sure though. I’m trying to figure out if a full rebuild is worth it or if I should just source a used gearbox and swap it in. Labour costs obviously add up so I want somewhere that actually knows their way around Nissan transmissions. I saw caracrepairsharjah.ae lists gearbox repair as one of their main services so I’m thinking of taking it there for a proper diagnosis first before making any decisions. Anyone dealt with them for transmission work? Did they give you honest advice about whether to rebuild or replace?
