Avoid scams. Deal locally.
Most marketplace transactions are safe when buyers and sellers meet locally, inspect the item, and use a payment method they understand. Slow down when someone pressures you or asks you to move money before meeting.
Never wire money to a stranger. Avoid Western Union, cashier’s checks, money orders, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or requests to pay a shipping agent.

Common warning signs
- The buyer or seller refuses to meet in person.
- Someone offers more than the asking price and asks you to refund the difference.
- You are asked to pay before seeing or inspecting the item.
- A third-party courier, escrow service, shipping company, or payment link is introduced unexpectedly.
- The message creates unusual urgency or asks you to continue outside Fendies.
- The offer sounds too good to be true.

- Meet during daylight in a busy, public place.
- Inspect and test the item before paying.
- Bring another adult or tell someone where you are going.
- Use cash or a trusted payment method only after inspecting the item.
- Keep conversations on Fendies so suspicious activity can be reviewed.
- Never share passwords, verification codes, banking details, or unnecessary personal information.
