Bit confused with my 2019 Countryman right now. The brake pad warning light popped up on the dash a few days ago, so I had a quick look myself and the pads still seem to have plenty of meat on them, maybe around 6-7mm front and back. I’m no mechanic but that doesn’t seem like replacement territory to me. Wondering if maybe the sensor got damaged or if there’s something else triggering it. Don’t really want to take it to the dealer for something that might just be a silly sensor issue because I know they’ll charge an hour diagnostic just to tell me what I already suspect. I’ve been looking around for a shop that really knows these cars and found one advertising Dubai Mini Cooper compact brake pad replacement that seems to handle a lot of Minis, so they’d probably be familiar with any common sensor quirks. Before I book anything though, has anyone else had false warnings on their Mini? Wondering if it’s worth just replacing the sensor wire myself or if I should get a proper diagnostic to make sure nothing else is going on. Also curious if the heat here makes these sensors more prone to failure.
